GEORGE KOURRIS

He was appointed member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Demetra Holdings Plc in 2019. Mr. Kourris holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Accounting from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.
He worked at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co in London and was admitted a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1983. Since 1983 he worked in Cyprus at Whinney, Murray & Co and as from 1989 at Ernst & Young. He was promoted to partner in 1987 with a specialisation in banking and financial services. In 1999 he was elected Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Cyprus, a position he held until 2012 when he left Ernst & Young.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of a family-owned group of companies which includes a general insurance company. He served for eleven years as an elected member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a past President of the Cyprus-British Business Association.
